Hiking on the Dry Stone Route GR 221 in Mallorca

The Ruta de Pedra en Sec, also known as the Dry Stone Route, is a long-distance hiking trail that runs along the entire west coast of Mallorca. It connects Port d’Andratx in the south of the Tramuntana with the town of Pollença in the north. Historically, the dry stone walls along the trail used to be trade routes for horses. Dry stone wall construction is a centuries-old art of using stones that is still cherished by the Mallorcans. Hikers can expect a natural spectacle on this diverse trail.
